Kid Mustache Party

The weeks just keep onnnnn coming …

Christmas Tree in the Pot1. Tree In
As I mentioned last week, we get a potted Christmas tree so we can plant it in the spring. Finally got the tree to the house and in place. The lights are on and the plan is this weekend to finally get the ornaments on. I’m going to need to clone myself to get anymore done! The other cool part this year is we setup the train. You can put drops of liquid in the engine and steam will come out of it. Last year was a bit tricky with the then 2 year old not getting the “just watch it” rule. Not that the 9 year old gets that rule. Or me for that matter.

2. Christmas Music
Our church has their annual Festival of Music to kick of the Christmas season. The two oldest kids played in the bell choir while the two youngest sang in kids choir. For the first time in since-I-can’t-remember, I was just an audience member. It was kind of nice!

3. Funny Kid
I took my son to a birthday party and upon arrival, everyone had to choose a mustache to wear. How much fun! This is something an adult party would do mixed with jello shots. The kids looked pretty awesome in their mustaches …

4. Fighting Through Sick
Of course I don’t let getting sick slow me down … I don’t really have a choice. When the kids are sick, I feel the impact more than me being under the weather. It means I’m up until midnight, mopping up puke, and trying to console them. The benefit is that it does provide some nice one-on-one time with a chance to chat. Hearing about how things are going in more detail is always nice. I know there will be a day I turn around and they may not want to talk to me. I already miss these days.
