Count the votes?

Count the votes?

I’m a little confused on why there is debate as to whether to count Florida and Michigan’s votes. The states were told that if you break the rules and move the primaries, that they would not count. Instead of listening to their own parties’ rules, they held their primaries earlier. Penalize them.

If the penalty is not enforced, then why shouldn’t every state break and/or make their own rules next election? It’s like raising a child. You tell them the rules and the consequences. If they don’t follow the rules, you have to enforce the consequences. Otherwise, the rules mean nothing.

Yes, it is sad that almost 2 million people between the 2 states voted and that their votes won’t count. Their voices have still been heard. The voters should be angry with their state party organization, not the entire Democrat party.

Even counting the votes would not make Hillary Clinton the decisive winner over Barack Obama. Plus, the popular vote does not matter as the Superdelegates cast the final vote. Everyone knows what the popular vote results were and there is a very slight gain for Clinton if they are counted. Obama will still have a 100+ delegate lead, so why try to break the rules?
