Kicking the sore throat

34:00 – 5k

For the past 10 days been trying to kick a severe sore throat. Was debating on whether running would be a horrible idea. A kind old pharmacist told me it may actually help to go running … so I did.

I’m writing this post from my iPhone as I sit in my kids’ karate class. No, I can’t sit still. The black belt instructor talks a lot about discipline. This is a good lesson when it comes to any kind of training. It’s especially true for marathon training. The first week or two seems easy, but then your mind starts telling you to stop getting up at 4a. It wants you to make it easy. You have to train your mind to do it. To follow a new schedule. Really, to be disciplined.

Make goals. Make a plan. Go forward.
