After all the talk and discussions about whether or not to choose a Plasma or LCD television, I bought a LCD. Went and stood in line (after Kohls) at 4:40am for a 5am opening. There were about 28 people in front of me and it felt like the weather had turned even colder. My friend showed up at 4:45am and we couldn’t believe how many people kept coming.
At 4:50am the manager came out and said that they only had 4 of the tvs I wanted and was going to start at the front of the line handing out vouchers for them. At the 4th person he announced the tvs were gone. So we went to Denny’s to chat and come up with a new plan.
We went to Circuit City and chatted up the Sales Manager about the difference between LCDs and Plasmas. He pretty much nixed every myth and thought we had that made LCDs bad. So we went next door to CompUSA. Sales guy said the same stuff.
Bought the 47 inch LG LCD television and received a GPS navigational system for free. Bonus.
