Dig Deeper Leadville 100 Speech – Video
The day before the Leadville 100 Mile Trail Run, there is a race briefing. This is to go over course changes, rules, tips, and medical signs to be aware of. The meeting takes place in the 6th Street Gym. It is not a gym with workout equipment, fancy lighting, or televisions. Picture your old high school gym … before it was renovated in the 70’s. It has character and history that you can feel when you walk into the room.
Also at this meeting is the infamous “Dig Deeper” speech. For the past 30 years, Ken Chloeber, the founder of the Leadville 100 Run, gave this motivating speech. This year though, 3 days before the race, Ken’s brother passed away. Our thoughts and prayers are still with him and his family.
In his place in the gym, Ken’s son, Cole, did just as an amazing job delivering the speech that made me want to start the 100 mile run immediately. I took video of this and have included it below. You can read the recap of my adventure of the Leadville 100 Mile Run as it is an experience I will never forget.
Take 10 minutes and watch this video. It may change your day, your week, or how you think about the situations in your life. It still gives me to chills and fires me up when I watch this.
You can do more then you think you can do. Change what you perceive are your limits.
I believe you can.
