Denver Museum of Nature and Science

Busy week catching up from being out of town last week. That means unpacking, laundry, cleaning, errands, and replying to emails. Here are four things since the last four things …

1. 17 hours and 15 minutes of driving
That’s how long it took all of us, including the dog, in the van to get from Dayton, Ohio to Frederick, Colorado. Not bad for 1,207 miles! Now to work off 7 days of eating ice cream …

2. Denver Museum of Nature and Science
I decided to take the 4 kids to the museum for some brain draining learning. Normally we stay about 2-3 hours, but this visit turned into 6+ hours of exploring, dinosaurs, IMAX 3D watching, and answering questions about space. Very cool to find out that Curiosity is landing on Mars in a couple of days. Yes, we will be watching the NASA channel on Sunday.

3. Eating from our garden
This was the first year we had planted a garden. I built a 4’x8′ box that is 18″ high to keep the rabbits out. We were able to pick zuccini and tomatoes this week to have. Tanya made an awesome pasta salad with it that all of us really enjoyed.

4. Running Realization
Between the Leadville Silver Rush 50 and 17+ hours of driving, I have convinced myself that I am ready for the Leadville 100 Mile Trail Run that is in 2 weeks. There will be plenty of walking, but I can guarantee you there will be plenty of smiling along the way. This is going to be an awesome journey.
