Top of Mosquito Pass

Not a question, but a happy email I received …

Alex,

I have been reading your stuff for years. It went from thinking you’re crazy to amusing to curious. Next thing I knew I was running. Then I signed up for my first half marathon and rocked it! Thank you for your stories and what not to do that you then do ๐Ÿ™‚

Top of Mosquito PassThere are times I don’t know why I write or how to write or when to write. Is anyone listening? Is it worth it? What’s the point?

Well, as Scott Jurek heard from his dad, sometimes you just do things!

I am glad to hear that my writings and postings are making a positive impact in the world. In fact, much of my 2014 is dedicated to doing that. If I can run to raise money for a cause, pace someone through their first race, or just show someone more is possible, then I can run stronger.

While others view my schedule and get exhausted, I see it as fuel to do more. Yes, there are times I fall asleep on family night. Yes, the kids say I snored too loudly during the movie. Yet they did not wake me up. They are understanding more each day what I do. The world is a better place together. Everyone is at a different place in their journey, but with the help of others that journey can move along.

We don’t even realize when people come into our lives and make an impact. My kids came back from Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp, with the lesson of Stealth Grace. This is the mission of helping others without them knowing it. The acts can be as simple as helping mom with laundry without letting her know who did it or my running secret I revealed I do. What starts out as a game turns into a different way of living.

If you change what you are looking for in life, you will receive more than you were expecting.

Thanks MR for the email and keep moving that line of possibility!
