Fantastic Four Things Friday – Week Recap No. 44
On this last Fantastic Friday of 2012, there are many things to cover that were fantastic about this past week.
1. Back to Playing
It has been great going to rehearsal and playing the trumpet again. I only get to play a couple times a year, but the memories come back fast. Playing with others was fun and watching them squirm a little performing in front of 500 was entertaining. As you see in the photo, performing doesn’t bother me. The more expected stress the more enjoyable I find it.
2. Cookies Cookies Cookies
I wasn’t sure 2 weeks ago why I tripled my weekly running miles. Now I know it was in preparation for the cookie eating marathon that I have been on. The list of cookies is hard to recall … buckeyes, no-bakes, haystacks, peanut butter blossoms, sugar cookies with sprinkles, bark, fudge … so sweet!
3. Holidays of No Schedule
With not having to go to an office and not really answering emails, that left me with plenty of time to cook, play games, and run. I tend to cook large breakfast meals as that’s what I grew up with. While I enjoy time with the family, I also have found that I am naturally an introvert. Those that have known me for a long time will disagree, but that’s because they are with me after I’ve recharged. I need the time to refuel the extrovert batteries and live up to those expectations. These holidays were a good time for that.
4. Snow
For only the 15th time in 112 years, it snowed on Christmas day. That was a nice blanket of white sparkling holiday magic for us to enjoy. We even shoveled our neighbors driveway without him knowing. Be stealthy in the kindness to spread the positive.
