Fantastic Four Things Friday – Week Recap No. 25
This was a week of mixed thoughts and emotions. The week I have been thinking about for over a year has arrived … Leadville 100 Mile Run! There was some fantastic stuff this week and here are four of them:
1. Mom in town
I haven’t seen my mom for almost 5 years! She is out to watch the 4 kids while Tanya and I are in Leadville for the race. Her and the kids are already having a blast together. They plan on baking woopie pie and other treats … which I’m looking forward to when I get home.
2. K Gets Her Gold Belt
K tested for her gold belt and passed with flying colors! I can’t say enough about the great people at Origin Martial Arts and the confidence they build in young kids. Every karate studio is a bit different and it comes down to the instructors. This studio emphasizes learning discipline and respect through fun and focused activities. What parent doesn’t want their kid to have discipline, respect, and confidence? It is awesome to watch K grow in confidence and this karate studio helps play a role!
3. We Went to the Zoo
It was only a few weeks ago when we last went to the zoo, but there’s always so much to see and learn that we never cover it all. This visit we were able to see a 3 ton elephant play around in the water. It amazes me that you can see the joy on such a large animal enjoying something so simple. A lesson for all of us to remember is to enjoy those simple moments.
4. Lego Store
Finally made it to the Lego Store! That place rocks and I would gladly buy everything they had in there … but contained myself into not. There is a plan though for a few chess, Harry Potter, and Star Wars sets though!
Bonus:
For the Olympics Closing Ceremonies we watched them while making smores inside … love this kit!
