Fantastic Four Things Friday – Week Recap No. 10
A week of fun and revelation … here’s a peak at just 4 of them.
1. Personal Record (PR) set at Cherry Creek Sneak 10 Mile
As posted in my race recap, I went sub 9 minute miles for 10 miles. That’s something new for me. One of those miles was almost sub 8. The great part is that it didn’t feel like much effort! I met with a personal trainer this week who pointed out some things in my form I had been wondering about. I’m already working on it and curious to see what happens in this weekend’s Greenland 50k (31 miles) race!
2. Afternoon baseball game
Company outing to a baseball game in the middle of the week is always nice … anytime I can go sit in the sun at Coors Field is a treat!
3. Kids’ Art Show
This week, our two oldest kids’ had their art selected to be in the district art show. What we weren’t expecting was to find that M’s colorful paper mache of a bug was one of three student’s pieces in the entire school to be recognized! It was very cool and incredible to see the creativeness alive in the schools.
4. Acceptance
Maybe it was writing the post answering 10 questions about my personality, but more and more I’m understanding what motivates, annoys, and makes me Me. I fully understand what I am control of and continue to not worry about what I can’t. Just try to guide the universe and not force it to change. Very similar to Einstein’s Warped Spacetime Theory … space and time are the constant, we are the variable.
Most importantly of all, remember to smile:
Love that it was hard for you to only pick 4! Sounds like there was a lot of variety in your week! Congrats to M on the art recognition! Â And good luck this week at your 50k!!
