If You Didn’t Throw-up You Can Run Faster

37:57 – 4 miles

When I run I come up with different slogans and taglines to move myself along. Some have made me laugh like:

If You Run Faster, You’ll Finish Faster

Well duh. Yet at the same time that doesn’t mean you can run faster for longer!

A big focus for me this year in my running has been to get faster. Going longer distances of marathons make me more hesitant about the speed. I don’t want to burn through the tank too quickly and end up with a great deal of walking. At the same time, I’ve never been close to passing out or collapsing in pain. I have felt both, but never on the edge.

As other runners know, people look at us a little differently. Like we are crazy, insane, and a bit nuts. To those comments I now say “thank you.”
