Planes and Kinko’s

Currently sitting on an airplane watching a Top Chef marathon. It’s making me hungry. While growing up in a restaurant, I was able to see firsthand speed/pressure my Dad was under in the kitchen. It is definitely something I enjoy. I love the stress and fast pace of the kitchen or any work environment. Looking back at my earlier jobs, I see a pattern. Lifeguard, retail, and running a Kinko’s. All positions that require you to focus and be on top of everything. At the same time, there is a high burnout ratio. Need to find a position that is a balance. My current consulting company provides that balance, but when I’m not doing anything, I’m not getting paid. Maybe I just need to charge double and work half as much.
