World Through My 4 Year Old

World Through My 4 Year Old

It’s her world, I’m just living in it.
Lately my 4 year old and I have been on the same wavelength.

She has been experiencing a great deal of change and new adventures in her life. Starting at a new preschool along with a new home daycare/preschool. She’s essentially getting full day preschool. And she’s already smart. I have accepted my error at the Leadville 100 and created a plan to fix it. I don’t want to wait another year to complete my first 100 mile race, so I have found some other options in the near future. After all, my longest run in a day is 50 miles. Time to change that to at least 62 miles … a 100k.

The past week my 4 year old has been fighting a bit of the stomach bug. She graciously shared this with me, so my running hasn’t been all that spectacular. In fact, my sleeping hasn’t been great either.

Through all this, we have shared many conversations over coffee. It amazes me how she is able to just let go, not forget, of failures. She bounces right back and keeps moving forward. It is a nice reminder to let go of the “what-ifs” and focus on the what you will. Her questions come at me in rapid fire mode to the point she forgets what we discussed 2 minutes ago.

That’s the life of a 4 year old. Full of confidence, ability to make quick decisions, and keep on moving forward.

Make life fun, run, and wave to random people.
