I spent last week in San Diego running a conference. My one goal for the week was to take a 1 hour break and sit in a hot tub. That didn’t happen.
From the moment I hit the ground there were things to fix. 98% of them the attendees, and even most of the staff, never knew about. There was one that was very obvious that involved pulling a speaker off the stage halfway through his “motivational and funny speech.”
While in San Diego I had time to walk along the beach around midnight (hot tub closed at 9p) and think about next steps. For my own company, 720x, I am interviewing 2 salespeople today to sell our Virtual IT Department. Much of what they sell and bring in will determine the plans for 2009.
The next question pondered is whether or not I take a job outside the home. It is great working from home and not having to deal with a commute, but the guarantee of a stable company and paycheck is always attractive.
These are the 2 major thoughts that I had time to think about while standing next to the ocean. I don’t have the answers for them, and maybe I never will, but they are questions to think about it.
