Interesting article about the universe will not end with a bang, but will just stop.

It appears that “dark energy” is to be blamed for the situation. This is the energy that can’t be seen that is causing supernovas on the edge of the universe are exploding and moving faster then those close to the center.

The idea that time itself could cease to be in billions of years – and everything will grind to a halt – has been set out by Professor José Senovilla, Marc Mars and Raül Vera of the University of the Basque Country, Bilbao, and University of Salamanca, Spain.

So when someone says they are running out of time, they mean it literally! I feel like I have seen this movie …
