Poker – Online or Live?
I like playing poker online and in-person. If I had to choose which I enjoy more, I would say in-person poker. There are many more elements involved whereas online is more about statistics and pattern recognition. In-person has this, but also includes stamina, reading people, and nerves. Here is an interesting article on the differences and changes between the two options. Online poker has made an impact on the old-school players. That generation could read a person like a book while now, online players sitting down at a table are more challenging to read. Many times they are playing when they shouldn’t because they don’t have their computer stats in front of them to assist. This causes them to play through hands they statistically shouldn’t, but catch something on the river and irritate everyone to death at the table.
