It is hard to remember that the moon’s surface is full of mountains and craters. Much of the traditional imagery we have is of Buzz Aldrin bouncing along the surface or the flat view we have from Earth. Japan’s lunar explorer has captured the most detailed images to date and they are amazing! It makes it almost not seem real that they are so detailed. This information will allows for future missions to the moon.
