Fantastic Four Things Friday – Week Recap No. 22
While traveling and being on vacation with the family, it is hard to narrow it down to just four things … so here they are!
1. Ice Cream
Each day this past week we had ice cream somewhere. Whether it be at Friendly’s, Young’s Dairy, Graeder’s, or JD’s, we found ice cream. All of it was awesome! From peanut butter chocolate to cookie dough to Wattamelon Roll it just couldn’t have been better to battle the humidity.
2. Playing Tennis
For those that have known me for awhile, I used to play tennis quite competitively in my early years. My father-in-law plays with a group of older experienced guys 3 times a week. These guys can control a ball! I played guys ranging in age of 49 to 88 and worked up a crazy sweat. The camaraderie and stories amongst this diverse group of guys was amazing. It felt really good to swing a racket again.
3. Hiking
I was able to get a couple of runs in, but it was also fun to get out with the family and dog for a hike. The dog was loving the water and exploring as much as he could get his nose into!
4. Getting wet
The humidity is something I have forgotten about. Growing up in Maine, I had plenty of humidity. Now that I live in Colorado, where it is dry heat, I have no immunity to the thing. This week we either got wet with the rain or a water hose.
BONUS: Glassblowing and Putt Putt Golf
My father-in-law teaches and is quite excellent at glassblowing, so the 2 oldest kids got to try their hands at:
At Young’s Dairy Farm, they also have a nice putt putt golf, so the whole family played. Well, our 3 year old made it to the 10th hole before a meltdown.
What an excellent week!! You can never go wrong w/daily ice cream! And oh my god – that picture of your son and youngest is absolutely precious! Print that out and frame it! Looks like a great vacation!
