2 Marathons in One Week
Over the past few days I have seen an interesting pattern. Many people knew I was taking on the goal to run 2 marathons in one week. Some were runners and others were not. Now that I have accomplished this goal and even improved my time from the first to the second, the feedback has been as follows:
“You’re crazy”
“Why would you do that to yourself?”
“You shouldn’t do that”
More and more the word crazy has come about. While at first I found it funny, now I find it irritating. Let me tell you why …
I recognize we live in a world where there are many opinions and that there are a vast majority of people who limit their brains to new ideas. Think back to the 60’s when it was announced we were going to put a man on the moon. People flipped!
“You’re crazy! It can’t be done! Why would you do that?!?!”
Until people start letting go of what they believe can’t be done, they’ll never know what can be done.
One of my favorite quotes I thought of while running was:
Until you’ve gone too far, you’ll never know how far you can go.
Let’s open our minds to what we can do and find new adventures and ideas along the way. Or, you can choose to sit on your couch and talk about how the world is against you.
Question: So why did I run 2 marathons in one?
Answer: To see if I could.
hahahaha
ah. That's awesome.
