Tough week but always a chance to find 4 things that were fantastic here on Friday …

1. Great solo run
It is nice to get out into the mountains and run for 5-6 hours. I ran into deer, river crossings, bikers, and llamas. I would have taken a photo of the llamas, but was cruising downhill and a bit surprised to come face-to-face with them.

2. Mt. Falcon run
Yup, ran this one again, but this time with a buddy. It’s about 2,000 feet of elevation climbing with great views of Denver. We had non-stop conversation about everything from web development to politics to the existence of multiple dimensions in space. Also encountered a deer on the trail that didn’t seem interested in moving out of our way.

3. Karate classes
The kids seem to be really doing well in karate class with the new instructor. There is more structure combined with fun rewards at the end of the class. The games are simple and teach the utmost concentration that it is amazing to watch. You can check out more about the dojo they go to that is geared towards karate for kids.

4. Coffee
Something about coffee is comforting and traditional. For my birthday last month, my wife presented me with a Keurig. It is quite awesome! I have been able to get K-Cups from Dunkin’ Donuts … even though the closest Dunkin Donuts is over an hour away. Brings back memories of living in Maine and working the overnight shift to make the donuts when I was 16 years old. Simple times.
