Tapering Mental

40:20 – 4 miles

Nice start to the day with the run and almost kept running! What’s challenging me on this tapering (where you run less and less three weeks before a race) is that I am finding myself mentally questioning whether I can run 26.2 miles on Sunday. In the past couple weeks, my longest run has been about 10 miles. My hope is that I will just fall into a grove on the course and be distracted for a few miles by the people and scenery. Watching video of the course I am looking forward to running down a canyon next to a river. There is the element of weather though … as long as there is no wind!
