Run Bon Jovi Run

54:00 – 5 miles (plus .3 cool down)

Finally, after almost 3 weeks, I am healthy enough to run again! It also helps that I am traveling and in my own little world so I can focus on getting back on the run. First song out of the gate on the iPod: Bon Jovi’s “Bad Medicine” … 5th song: “You Gave Love a Bad Name.” Not a bad way to start and then to wrap it up with a couple Metallica songs.

Have to talk about the stimulus plan for a moment. People seem upset that the bill is about spending. Well, consumers are not spending, banks are not lending, companies are closing, and people are losing their jobs. Repeat cycle. President Bush tried to stop the cycle by giving the banks billions so they would lend again. That didn’t work.

So looking at the cycle, that leaves creating jobs and helping companies stay in business. This stimulus plan does that. It spends money on projects that require American companies to perform which will require American workers to carry out. Do we really need to do a $2 million makeover to government buildings? No, but it is a 6 month project that will create jobs and put money into construction and material companies. These job creations will allow people to buy food and supplies at retail stores which will allow the stores to hire more people who will buy more. See the cycle yet?

I often get slapped for making things to simple. As I tell my 4 year old girl, sometimes you can apply a simple solution to a large problem.
